Kottakarai Village women thirst for change

Since the day, I started to live in Kottakarai village in Auroville, I see the daily life of women here. I see that they are powerless. Most women are managing their families with dedication and care but they are not managing themselves. They do not care about their wellbeing, personal development and growth.

These women are the creators and sculptors of the village economy. Yet, there exists a mass low self confidence and self esteem among them that has come from years of being just a home maker.

Women must know what they are capable of and their rights. They must stand up against domestic violence, they must be active participants in the decision making process and activities of the village.
